Sit Pak Hong Jeffrey started taking violin classes at the age of six. Jeffrey’s passion to learn music was aroused when he was studying in Diocesan Boys’ School. He was the chairman of the Senior String Orchestra and won the first prize as a soloist in the Hong Kong Music Festival in 2006. After his graduation in DBS he studied in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and received the Bachler of Music, where he studied with Cheng Yat Wah and Cheng Yue Albert, with full sponsorship of the Y. S. Liu Foundation scholarship. In 2010, he performed in a masterclass of French violinist Renaud Capuçon and was described as “A versatile and very musical violinist”. In addition, Jeffrey attended a summer course at the University of Mozarteum, where he had an opportunity to study with the Russian violinist Igor Oistrakh, son of the legendary violinist David Oistrakh. He acclaimed the “Most Musical and Best Interpretation” award in Igor’s class. Furthermore, Jeffrey also had masterclasses with renowned Chinese violin pedagogue Tung Wai Dung and Russian violinist Boris Garlitsky etc.
Upon graduation from the HKAPA, Jeffrey further pursued his study at the Royal College of Music, where he earned the Masters of Performance degree in 2013, under the tutelage of the Dutch violinist Berent Korfker. In London, he performed in several renowned venue such as Royal Festival Hall, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall etc. Moreover, during his study in London he worked with many renowned musicians and violin pedagogues such as Zakhar Bron, Vladimar Ashkenazy, Alina Ibragimova, Ani Schnarch, Levon Chiligirian, Simon Smith, Madeleine Mitchell and Susie Maszaros, Robin O’Neil, Edward Gardner, Ilyich Rivas, Mikk Murdvee, Martin André etc, and learned conducting skill from Maestro Peter Stark.
Jeffrey is active as a violin player in solo, chamber music and orchestra. He has played in various orchestras, such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, Hong Kong Virtuosi, Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, Hong Kong Festival Orchestra, Hong Kong Medical Association Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Orchestra etc. In 2018, He performed as a soloist in collaboration with Busan Festival Orchestra and Gustav Mahler Orchestra in Busan Festival Hall. Despite of his busy schedule of teaching, he insisted to arrange violin recital every year to perform regularly. He is currently a violin tutor in Yip’s Choral and Performing Arts Centre.

薛氏在六歲時開始學習小提琴。他就讀拔萃男書院的時候激發學音樂的興趣. 當時他在2006年以獨奏者身份帶領高級弦樂團獲得冠軍. 中學畢業後他往香港演藝學院獲得學士學位,師承鄭日華和鄭裕,2008年更獲得劉元生慈善基金全數學費支持。 2010年他在法國著名小提琴家Renaud Capuçon 的大師班上課,隨後被形容為一位「多元化及音樂感豐富的小提琴家」。 除此之外,薛柏康在同年夏天前往薩爾斯堡莫札特大學(Universität Mozarteum Salzburg) 師隨俄羅斯著名小提琴大師 Igor Oistrakh ,其間獲得最佳音樂感及演繹獎。除此之外, 薛氏更在香港演藝學院跟中國小提琴教育家Tung Wai Dung 和俄羅斯小提琴家Boris Garlitsky等上大師班, 獲受好評。
薛氏在香港完成學士學位後便前往英國進行深造,在皇家音樂學院就讀音樂演奏碩士,師承荷蘭小提琴家Berent Korfker,並在2013年順利完成碩士學位。在倫敦,他曾和許多專業音樂家共事,包括著名小提琴教育家Zakhar Bron, 著名鋼琴及指揮家Vladimar Ashkenazy, Alina Ibragimova, Ani Schnarch, Levon Chiligirian, Simon Smith, Madeleine Mitchell and Susie Maszaros, Robin O’Neil, Edward Gardner, Ilyich Rivas, Mikk Murdvee, Martin André等, 也跟Peter Stark學習指揮。
薛氏活躍於獨奏,室樂和管弦樂團。他曾在香港管弦樂團,澳門樂團,香港名家樂友,香港室樂團和香港醫學會管弦樂團等表演,樂團經驗豐富。在2018年, 他跟釜山交響樂團和馬勒交響樂團合作, 以獨奏者的角色在釜山音樂廳作個人演出. 除此之外, 儘管平日忙於教學, 他堅持每年都會開小提琴獨奏會. 他現時於葉氏兒童音樂實踐中心擔任小提琴老師。
